Well, I met Bill Maher at his latest documentary called Regoligius and not as a stand up comedian he is. This was made on the 2000 and I didnt have the feeling it was old material. This guy is a brilliant comedian, coming up at this stand up comedy session with how cynical we need to be about certain aspects in life, such as sex, politics or religion. At some point of the show I couldnt not to recall in some of his topics and jokes the great Bill Hicks, when he talked about how drugs positively influenced or music compositions, how the marketing industry is pure evil and how they’d lye to you, how the NRA here and how the Bushes and the Kennedies. Score: 7.

To say the truth I saw Lisa Lampanelli on a roast some time ago and I didn’t really saw any funny stuff but this, I would say it is a good laugh. As usual, Lisa would pick on any minority, looks like all of them loved by her, African Americans, Mexicans and Asians are her favorite, sex, bad language and funny stuff assured. On the other side I just fear that some not as liberal and intelligent might take her jokes wrongly and these may stimulate already racists out there. Just a thought. Score: 5.

Religulous is a brilliant documentary coming up with question marks to the different believers of the different creeds: is that right? A creative journey around the globe to meet and interview people from many faiths and ask them the kind of questions they don’t enjoy to answer for they seem not to have the answers to them. From Judaism and Islam through the different Christians and non-Christians cults and sects. Stand up comedian Bill Maher, himself a half christian and half Jew, comes up with this dissertation on world religions, and what their followers have to say in their defense, though in many occasions they are just left without nothing to say after Bill makes fun of them when no response he gets is serious enough to deserve a thought. Very intelligent work, nicely and creatively elaborated around the all time deep philosophical questions we have sometime tried to answer ourselves. Score: 8.
