Jimmy Carr is one of a kind brilliant, sharp and clever Brittish stand-up comedian.  He’s got some other shows, the one I can relate too is the same recording stand-up comedy evening of year 2005, in which he also exhibited a fantastic way of performing, improvising a lot, just coming up with fantastic ideas “on the fly”, while people would shoot at him from all over with all types of commentaries and questions. Jimmy is specially keen on sex related jokes where extreme scenarios are depicted while he tries to amaze himself by contemplating the degree of ashtonishment he  placed his audience into, observe their reactions, though most of the times it ends with 100 % pure laughing. Score 8.

Naked Into The Wilderness is a fine collection of videos filmed around the 80´s  (but for whom time doesn’t pass for the essentials of surviving are the same).  John & Geri McPherson will gently show you how to create fire, preserve meat, build a bow, tools from stone and a long list of survival instruments that will make you not only survive in the wilderness but thrive in it. John and Geri are an encyclopedia of a kind of knowledge that was never put into writing and was lost in the archives of human history. This is a revival of human first aid practices when you find yourself naked from all modern comforts and then you ask yourself what am I without my watch, my refrigerator, my clothes, my car, my supermarket. This doc could one day make the difference between living and dying. Score: 7.

Seed is a disturbing twisted , brutal piece of picture. Right at the beginning, this piece shows part of the appalling video that once reached me by mail with the insensitive bunch of Chinese at a local market place skinning small unoffensive Asian foxes while alive. This already should be enough for the majority of the audiences to leave this film unseen…but I went further and decided to complete the watching. The atrocities seen in Seed don’t need any great actors to play their parts, for even if we would be dealing with great performers, they would be left behind by the power of the brutal crimes in this committed. You can already sense that this is about a serial executor but still I don’t recall having watched images so disturbing. Again, not for all audiences to say the least. Score: 7.

First of all, The Machinist is a great story only understood by the last frame of the movie.  Nevertheless I can still not understand the whole buzz made out of this piece,  all the prices and nominations. Second of all, Christian Bale, this guy is an actor, and a disciplined one: how can someone loose almost all his body weight, reach almost zero body fat for a movie? Well, we saw Robert de Niro at “Raging Bull” gaining some 20 something kg at his worst in the film and getting so fit he had a real chance to become a pro, but Bale… watching him like this is just too much. Aitana, just beautiful and Jennifer act well her part, but as mentioned…too slow movie, too long for the punch line. Score: 5
