Otis (nice coincidence? with Michigan Offender Tracking and Information System) is a hilarious comedy around a family whose daughter gets kidnapped by a serial abductor/killer. At the very beginning I was under the impression that this is going to be a low budget bad quality film but I was patient enough to let go the first scene. On the one hand it came to my mind “Zodiac” and the Cohen Bros at the same time. (more…)
I came to see “Burn after reading” already predetermined by some critics I heard about how “this movie does not follow the others Cohen Bros. comedy line” or “don’t expect it to be hilarious”. I feel this is still a funny movie, more subtle than “Oh Brother where are though” or “The Big Lebowsky” but still a quality piece of art, a satire around the business of secret state agencies and how down below every organization is composed of individuals with their problems, crises and defects. I specially liked George Clooney’s and Brad Pitt’s part. (more…)

Fantastic past timer, once again by this hilarious actor, Will Ferrell, this time is a pro ice skater banned from competition circles in the singles male category for fighting with a long time hatred competitor when both were on the podium sharing a golden medal. Both pro players will live in the shadows of anonymity until the former trainer comes up with the brilliant idea of having both pro sportsmen to participate in a pro competition this time as a couple.
