I came to see “Burn after reading” already predetermined by some critics I heard about how “this movie does not follow the others Cohen Bros. comedy line” or “don’t expect it to be hilarious”. I feel this is still a funny movie, more subtle than “Oh Brother where are though” or “The Big Lebowsky” but still a quality piece of art, a satire around the business of secret state agencies and how down below every organization is composed of individuals with their problems, crises and defects. I specially liked George Clooney’s and Brad Pitt’s part. The first one a bored married man in his forties trying to get laid when the occasion arrives and whose destiny takes him to kill an innocent man, Chad (Pitt), an idiotic depicted character trying to gain some extra dollars together with the help of his not less stupid accomplice Linda Frances McDormand). I couldn’t help myself from thinking about real life samples of secret agencies mistakes sucha as the one where that MI5 agent forgot his case in central London. Very creative script and story that deserves a 7 on my scale.
